Betty’s favorite things

My Maker, my family, my friends, my church, my garden (namely my daylilies, roses, and irises), music (classical and country) flower arranging, exhibiting in flower shows ---- these are a few of my favorite things.

Above: my wonderful family -- beside me are my twin daughters Ellen Sommers and Betty Alexandria Roberts and Betty’s boy friend, Brian Hitt, son-in-law LaMar Sommers, my grandson Nathan Sommers, and my granddaughter Allison Sommers.

welcome to the world as seen through my eyes

My love of gardening was instilled in me by my mother in my very early years, but I didn’t even know it at the time. Mom would call me out to view the pretty flowers and I would take a fast look and then quickly get back to  my book. She was amazed in later years when my life became so totally consumed by gardening and gardening organizations. Ned’s mother was very influential, too, and introduced me to daylilies long before Ned ever dreamed of hybridizing.
